Shannon Edwards

Dance Teacher

Shannon began her dance training at the early age of three, training in Ballet, Tap, Modern and Jazz and successfully gained numerous qualifications. She then went on to further her skill set, training as an Elite Gymnast and representing Yorkshire in acrobatics and tumbling.  

 

Shannon trained in dance and performing arts at CAPA college and also gained a place in Momentum Dance Company, this lead to her to performing and competing in many prestigious events across the UK including reaching the semi finals of ‘Got To Dance’ on Sky 1. She then went on to  study at The Liverpool Institute For Performing Arts, where she attained her first class BA Honours Degree in Dance. Shannon has a range of professional experience including  backing dancer for ‘Backstreet Boys’ and ‘ BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing’, Dancer captain in ‘The Very Big Catwalk’ and Understudy for Anita in the production ‘Westside’.

 

Alongside her performing, Shannon has a real passion for teaching and enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience with the younger people. She believes that teaching at Stage One is the most rewarding opportunity to fulfil an ambition that has always been close to her heart.
