Summer Timetable 2020

Hi everyone,

We are so excited to announce that WE ARE BACK! We will be running on-site classes here at Stage One from Saturday 25th July at St James’ Church, Buckhurst Hill.

After closing our doors to all classes on Friday 20th March, we have not given up on this chance to have everyone back as part of the Stage One family and we CANNOT wait to see you all!

In accordance with Government guidelines we have taken extra precautions with regards to hygiene, even though our standards are very high already:

  • All staff will be temperature checked and this will be recorded.

  • Our front of house staff will be wearing appropriate PPE.

  • Our venues have on-site hand sanitising stations that MUST be used on ENTRY and EXIT.

  • We have allowed extra time between classes for arrivals and departures and to clean thoroughly.

  • The timetable below is our 3-week summer timetable which has been formulated in order to cope with demand in a SAFE way.

  • All classes will have a maximum of 15 students per class.

  • All students MUST adhere to social distancing guidelines within classes.

  • Any student feeling unwell during class will be sent home immediately.

  • All students MUST be pre-booked into their appropriate class.

  • Fees MUST be paid by bank transfer with the students names as a reference.

  • Please then email or text to let us know you have paid and for which classes, dates and times to secure your place.

  • Anyone who requested to be on our waiting list will be contacted within the next couple of weeks to be booked in.

Classes will cover Dance, Musical Theatre & Drama.

There will be classes for our Beginners to Stage and Group 1, 2 & 3’s. There will also be an extra dance class for our new summer group - Group 4 (for ages 14+).

Each class will be an hour-long at a cost of £10 per class, with the exception of the Beginners to Stage classes which will be 45 minutes at a cost of £7 per class.

Our summer Beginners to Stage classes will include lots of fun new warm-ups, exercises and routines, with maybe even a visit from some favourite characters!

To start back with a fresh approach, Groups 1-4 classes will include Musical Theatre numbers such as Hamilton, new pop songs and some Musical Madness, to name but a few! In Dance we will get the students back into some energising warm-ups, followed by some super fresh Street Dance routines from artists like Todrick Hall, Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga. We will also begin to work on new exercises from the NEW Street Dance UDO syllabus. Not to mention fun-filled and creative Drama classes with great games and of course social distancing.

Fees MUST be paid by bank transfer with the STUDENT’S names as a reference.  Please book ASAP as spaces are limited. Please then email or text to let us know you have paid and for which classes, dates and times. In order for these classes to go ahead, please can everyone book by Thursday 23rd July. Please also add your emergency telephone number.

Parents and carers are to drop off and collect from the door of St James’ Church, adhering to social distancing guidelines.  Students will be taken from the parent/carer straight to class and returned for pick up collection by a member of the Stage One staff. We are unable to accommodate parents/carers on-site at any of our venues until further advised.

Parking will be restricted to Palmerston Road, Russell Road at the back or any nearby streets. You will be unable to park in the main car park.

Please ensure each child has their own water bottle all clearly labelled with their full name. No other personal items are allowed.

Toilet facilities are available at the hall, however, we encourage all students to visit the toilet before arriving to the hall.

We appreciate these last few months all students will have grown and uniform may no longer fit. All uniform can be purchased online at and collected on arrival. Please ensure as best as possible that all students attend in full Stage One uniform, however, we understand if they have outgrown them. All students MUST attend classes wearing appropriate footwear (no flip-flops or sliders).

To ensure all forthcoming classes and the return of Stage One runs smoothly if your child or anyone in the family have displayed the following symptoms please do not bring them to class:

  • A raised temperature or fever

  • A continuous cough

  • A loss of taste or smell

The team at St James’ have done a marvellous job at ensuring the highest standard of hygiene during these current times in preparation for our return. For that we give them the biggest thanks.

Thank you again for your ongoing patience, support and participation at our online classes and ‘Live at 5’ and for helping keep the Stage One spirit alive.

We look forward to seeing you very soon and as always we are happy to answer any queries you may have at
